Clinician’s Challenges
* Limited time/funding to collect the relevant information
* The more time spent gathering background information, the less time they have with your child
* If they don’t ask enough questions about your child they may not find out an important detail that clarifies your child’s diagnosis or the need for a referral (some pediatrician’s or therapists aren’t even aware of what symptoms to ask about).
Parent Challenges
* It can be hard to recall specific details during the evaluation such as when certain developmental milestones were passed or the date of a last hearing test (you have this info at home when filling out the form)
* You may not know what are the important symptoms to tell the examiner about (the form asks about relevant symptoms)
* You can send the report created by this program to the clinician in advance to help them be more prepared for the assessment
